And then there were eight in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Elite Eight is set in women's March Madness, and two Final Four spots are on the line Sunday. No. 1 UConn faces upset-minded and sixth-seeded Notre Dame in the day's first game, before No. 1 UCLA goes up against No. 3 Duke. Texas vs. Michigan and South Carolina vs. TCU will decide the other half of the Final Four on Monday night.
While there have been a handful of upsets -- Michigan is the only No. 2 seed in the Elite Eight, No. 6 Notre Dame has pulled off two upsets and 10th-seeded Virginia made a run to the Sweet 16 -- all four No. 1 seeds have gone unbeaten in the tournament, with the closest margin of victory being UCLA's 19-point win over Oklahoma State in the second round. UConn, UCLA, Texas and South Carolina all made the Final Four last season, and they're trying to meet again in Phoenix next weekend.
Regionals are being held in Fort Worth and Sacramento this weekend. The 2026 Final Four will be played in Phoenix, with the championship game on Sunday, April 5. Dates and times have been set for Elite Eight games, and the full schedule for the 2026 NCAA Tournament is below.

UConn, led by Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd, is the heavy favorite to win it all and complete another perfect season. If the Huskies win the title, they will become the 11th team to go undefeated and the first team to win back-to-back titles since they won four in a row from 2013-16.
