

The 2025 College World Series field is underway in Omaha, Nebraska. This year features an entirely new field of eight teams representing seven different conferences.
Sunday saw Louisville break its game wide open in the eighth inning, as a 3-2 game became an 8-3 blowout as the Cardinals went on a run kicked off by a single to right field by Zion Rose. Louisville went from trailing Arizona 3-1 midway through the seventh inning to winning 8-3, and it will play Coastal Carolina in the next round.
Coastal Carolina cruised to a 6-2 win over Oregon State thanks to an excellent start from right hander Jacob Morrison. Now 12-0 on the year, Morrison allowed five hits and one run over 7.2 innings and 109 pitches, notching seven strikeouts. Dean Mihos went 2-for-4 with with a double and a RBI for Coastal Carolina.
On Saturday, this year's Cinderella team, the Murray State Racers, were defeated by the UCLA Bruins, 6-4. The Racers scored four unanswered runs after falling behind 6-0 in the fourth inning, but went three up and three down with their final chance in the top of the ninth.
The LSU Tigers also stole a 4-1 win against the title-favorite Arkansas Razorbacks thanks to a masterful performance from pitcher Kade Anderson. He notched seven strikeouts in seven innings, and allowed just three hits while throwing 60 strikes on 100 pitches.
On Friday, Coastal Carolina and Arizona got things started with a back-and-forth game at Charles Schwab Field. Entering the bottom of the eighth inning, the Chanticleers and Wildcats were tied at 4-4, but Coastal Carolina took control with an RBI single and a two-RBI double.
Down 7-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Arizona got runners on the corners with no one out. That's when Chants pitcher Dominick Carbone slammed the door with a strikeout of Dom Rodriguez before inducing a double play.
